Many pilots believe that the hills around Abergavenny offer some of the best paragliding and Hang gliding in the country. The Blorenge, one of Wales's most popular flying sites is owned by the South East Wales Hang Gliding and Paragliding Club. Towering 480m above Abergavenny, the Blorenge dominates the local landscape. Most weekends the sky above the mountain is full of people soaring silently through the skies.
There are a number of training schools in the town that can teach complete beginners how to fly within a day or so.
