You’ll be spoilt for choice with great riding country throughout the Black Mountains near Abergavenny. There are managed bridleways and routes like the Black Mountains Loop, the Three Rivers Ride (which finishes at the River Usk via Hay Bluff) and Furlong Route Ride around Blaenavon World Heritage Centre just up the hill from Abergavenny. There are riding and pony trekking centres catering for all abilities from beginner to experienced near Abergavenny. In the Black Mountains you can ride for an hour, half a day, a full day or more! The nearest are at the Grange Trekking Centre at Capel y Ffin, The Wern in Llangattock or at the Golden Castle Riding Centre on the Llangattock Hills.
